The majority of the time buyers want a home that is in move-in condition and they are willing to pay for it! Here are some terrific ways to prepare your home for the market:

Kitchen – Clear off the kitchen counter of everything except what is used daily. Make sure everything is spotless including all the appliances. While you are at it, it’s a good idea to take all the magnets & calendar off of the refrigerator for a fresh look.

Bathrooms – Make sure to fix any leaky faucets and unclog any slow drains. Cleanliness is of utmost importance.

Bedrooms – Beds should be neatly made, toys picked up, posters removed from walls, and the laundry should be put away.

Windows and window coverings– Windows should be sparkling clean. Do not forget the drapes and blinds – clean or replace if necessary.

Eliminating large collections –You want your home to be the focal point, not your collection.

Wallpaper & borders – Even if these are in good taste, wallpaper & borders can date a home.
